Brocot & Delettrez; a mid-to-late 19th century boulle work gilded brass mounted mantel clock, the red stained shell ground body inset with foliate scroll decoration throughout, surmounted with cast brass foliate finial and classical bust to front above a white enamel chapter ring set with Roman numerals and Arabic five-minute markers on gilt ground, diameter 11cm, above a pierced foliate grille with central shield-shaped cartouche inscribed 'MW de B' below a crown, with further gilded classical and foliate strap work to sides and base above four cast feet, the eight-day movement to interior signed and numbered 471964 with further impressed silver medal mark, height 42cm. CONDITION REPORT Areas of surface wear to gilding, dirt and scratches to body and glass commensurate with age, some raising to brass inlay to top of clock, with key and pendulum.

Downs, his diary extracts recounting the events, his Memorial Scroll and Card and a commiseration letter written to his parents from the front by close friend Sgt. J. McCann and also a black leather wallet belonging to one of the brothers.
