A Rare Collection of Oxford University Rowing Medals and plaques awarded to Edward Prichard Evans, a member of the winning Oxford Boat Race Team in 1905 This fine and impressive collection of 13 pieces includes his Winning ‘Putney’ medal (Boat Race) and his Winners ‘Visitors Challenge Cup’ medal from Henley together with 2x OUBC Four Oars Challenge Prize Silver Medals, 2x OUBC Bronze Trials Eights, 4x engraved boat crew plaques and 2x Radley College medals – all mounted f & g c/w gilt slips – together with two photographs by Moyse Putney to incl a cabinet photograph of Evans showing him wearing his sweater onto which are sewn his initials, his Oxford Blazer and the Oxford University Boat Club Cap complete with crossed oars emblem. The second is a shot of the crew manning the boat in 1905 with Evans seated at number six. Evans, the son of a clergyman, was born Sandgate, Kent in 1884 and lived in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. A print of a newspaper account of the race is also included
