§ David Tinker (British, 1924-2000) Alabama Moon, 1969 signed on the reverse "David Tinker" oil on canvas, unframed 102 x 152cm (40 x 59in) David Tinker was one of the stars of the Welsh Group’s 50th anniversary retrospective at the national museums and galleries of Wales. In 1956, he was co-founder of the radical exhibiting co-operative 56 Group Wales, acting as chairman of the Welsh Group for 15 years. At Cardiff, his students had included Sir Anthony Hopkins and the painters Ivor Davies and Professor Glyn Jones. In 1962, he moved to the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, leading its growing art school until his retirement in 1986. Tinker sat on the Welsh Arts Council’s art panel and the executive of the Contemporary Art Society for Wales. Examples of his work are held by the Arts Council of Wales and the National Gallery in Cardiff. He was awarded the Queen’s Medal for Art in 1977. Two bumps to the canvas on the right-hand side and some surface dirt. Unframed. Artist's notes to the reverse - "Painted with PVA, varnished with Rowney synthetic soft varnish, 1969".
§ William Mervyn Glass, RSA (British, 1885-1965) Windy landscape, Scotland oil on canvas 65 x 42cm (25 x 16in) Provenance: Louise Kosman, 8 Burgess Terrace, Edinburgh William Mervyn Glass was born in Aberdeenshire; he studied at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen and the Royal Scottish Academy Life School in Edinburgh, and later in Paris and Italy. His work won awards such as the Maclaine-Watters bronze medal and the Chalmers Jervise prize and he painted chiefly in Iona and Scottish Highlands. He exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy and other national institutions. Condition is fine.

His paintings appear rarely at auction.
A Waterloo medal to Ensign Frederick de Ronne, King's German Legion Friedrich von Ronne joined the Kings German Legion in March 1814 and was appointed Gentleman Ensign on the 21 March 1814 serving in the Netherlands and at the Battle of Waterloo. He fought at Waterloo as part of Lieutenant Harry Dehnels 3rd Line Battalion KGL, Col du Plats 1st KGL Brigade.Friedrich Ludwig von Ronne (1799-1865) was a Prussian jurist, politician, diplomat, author and German Ambassador to the United States.
