Wright family possible double Casualty groups - 1915 Star Trio to 19534 Pte John Thomas Wright 9th Bn Yorks Regt Killed In Action 7th June 1917, Born Helmsley, Remembered on the Ypres Memorial (lived South View, East End, Ampleforth). And a WW2 group in named box of issue `Miss M Wright, South View, East End, Ampleforth`, believed to be a Casualty group but no Medal slip present, 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Italy Star, Defence & War Medals. Interesting lot needing further research.
British Civil War / Restoration Loyalty Medal, 17thC silver d.27mm: George Duke of Albemarle, portrait r./ engraved shield of arms. This in the fashion of the General Monck medal c.1660 (Eimer 218) or otherwise that may have been based on these medalets. George Monck, Duke of Albermarle was a member of the nobility who swapped sides during the Civil War, became a close friend of Oliver Cromwell, then swapped sides again and was instrumental in the restoration of Charles II. Toned VF, missing loop.
