British Commemorative Medallions (2): Barber Beaumont Institution Medal 1841 bronze d.55mm pitted VF in a glass-backed yellow metal (tests as 9ct gold) collar mount with historical inscription; plus a Barber Beaumont 'Duke of Cumberlands Sharpshooters' Medal bronze d.41mm, with similar yellow metal (tests as 9ct) collar mount with inscription.
Distinguished Service Medal GVI group - DSM (J.101151 G W P Galpin P.O.) several edge bumps. 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Atlantic Star + F & G clasp, Italy Star, War Medal, and GVI Naval LSGCM (J.101151 G E P Galpin A/P.O HMS Birmingham) several edge bumps and tiny correction noted. Lot includes original DSM letter "for courage, zeal and skill while serving in HMS Nubian in many highly successful actions against Enemy Shipping in the Mediterranean". L/G 27th July 1943. Lot also includes large flag and cap, plus other photos. Born Winterborne, Dorset. Died aged 80 years and cremated at Salisbury, having his ashes cast in the sea from the Calshott Lifeboat. (qty)
