Reverse: a flight of eagles rising from the Olympic Stadium of Rome, inscribed GIOCHI DELLA XVII OLYMPIADE ROMA MCMLX, 55mm, 78gr, bronze, in a case which is not of original issue. Also a smaller bronze medal, 40mm, 15gr, by Cesare Merzacore, depicting a man holding the Olympic Torch with the stadium in the background, reverse showing a tree reaching into the clouds and the Olympic rings, inscribed OLYMPIAD DI ROMA/1960. 1967 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship winners medal awarded to Kilkenny Hallmarked 9ct gold by J.M. (John Millar). Of typical form, engraved on the reverse Craobh Iomána na hÉireann 1967 - Cill Ceannaigh v Tiobraid Árann`. The 1967 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final was the 80th All Ireland final and was won by Kilkenny on a score line of 3-8 to 2-7, the first time they had beaten Tipperary in championship competition since 1922. The team included some of Kilkenny`s all time great hurlers such as Eddie Keher, Tom Walsh, Jim Treacy and Martin Coogan. An extremely scarce medal."" 1.5 by 1.5in., 3.75 by 3.75cm.

1939-46 Emergency Service Medal Defence Forces issue with two bars. Also with this lot a commemorative medal for Thomas D`Arcy McGee. Thomas D`Arcy Etienne Hughes McGee, PC, (1825 – 1868) was an Irish Nationalist, Catholic spokesman, journalist, and a Father of Canadian Confederation. He fought for the development of Irish and Canadian national identities that would transcend their component groups. He is, to date, the only Canadian victim of political assassination at the federal level, having been killed by a Fenian in 1868.

This medal was awarded for one of a series of small-ship actions during the Russo-Turkish War culminating in the action on 17-18 June 1788, when 58 Russian ships armed with 400 guns and 5,500 men attacked a much larger Turkish force. One Russian squadron was commanded by John Paul Jones.

TROPHY 1930. WON BY CPL A J STEWART, on granite plinth, hallmarked Birmingham 1930, two contemporary studio photographs of Col Stewart, press cuttings and a relevant copy of the Gatooma Mail newspaper, February 12 1942 MC: London Gazette, 26 December 1941, p7336. Captain Alexander James ["Jock"] Stewart led the spearhead of the attack on the Marda Pass. The recommendation of the MC reads: "During the action on 24 Feb 1941 at VITTORIA D`AFRICA when his Company came under intense Machine Gun fire by bold leadership and skilful handling he succeeded in capturing the position with the minimum number of casualties. On 21 Mar 1941, in the action for the MARDA PASS, and although wounded himself established them in a strong position before being evacuated as a casualty, thus setting a fine example to his men.

A rare Doulton Lambeth presentation vase, 1885, the elongated ovoid body incised with amonite scrolls below a frilled mouth and sprigged with Chinese and European motifs including a portrait profile of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, between garter belts and inscribed 'Albert Medal, Society Arts, 1885' the impulse given to production of art pottery in England and another 'presented by HRH the Prince of Wales to Henry Doulton, December 21st 1825 at Lambeth Art Pottery', impressed rosette mark, collection label of Sir Leslie Joseph, 16cm The form is almost exactly that of vases produced by Hichozan Shinpo at Arita and would have been imported almost comtemporaneously. Sir Leslie Joseph was an inveterate collector, best known for his comprehensive collection of Swansea and Nantgarry CONDITION REPORT: No obvious damage i.e. chips or cracks. Possible restoration to the rim, as a couple of areas are soft to tooth. The neck has been sprayed a slightly different shade, but under UV light it does not show restoration.
