His POW papers reveal that "whilst in charge of Jap working parties, the men were always doing things to hinder the work, eg, at oil refinery in Java after tins were filled with oil returning transit onto lorries, were punctured with hooks causing oil to run out in the lorry". He dug a shelter under heavy fire for an Officer who was dangerously wounded and then rejoined the firing line". MC L/G 2/4/1919 for France & Flanders 7/Bn Cheshire Regt. "For conspicuous gallantry and good leadership during operations near Jenlain on 3rd/4th Nov 1918, During an enemy withdrawal he lead his company in pursuit with great skill, and made ground and captured prisoners, pressing forward in advance of the Division on his left. Afterwards, under intense shell fire he reorganised his company and led them in another attack with complete success". DCM L/G 15/9/1915. MID L/G 5/11/1915. Ex Superintendent Mildon was also awarded the Kings Police Medal for Conspicuous Gallantry and for Special Services on fire float "Delta" 11 in dealing with a serious situation on occasions of a fire, as a result of explosions on two barges "Tom Tutt" and "Arthur" off Dagenham on 16th Dec 1919. Unfit for Army service in 1939 he reapplied for service in 1940 gaining the position of Honorary Attaché at Cairo May 1940. Mentioned In Despatches 5th August 1943, served as an Intelligence Officer in the Middle East, Mediterranean, France and Germany. The lot includes many original documents including MID Certificate, Security Passes, Officers Release Book, Passport, etc, etc. Medal box of issue (top damaged). Copy of a book written by Lord Wilson `Where The Nazis Came` pub 2002. Various Officers badges, named sewing kit, etc. Medals - Baronets Badge (silver gilt) named Wilson of Libya 1965, 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Italy Star, France & Germany Star, War Medal + MID, Greek Medal for Outstanding Acts 1940, and US Bronze Star.
