A WWI Casualty medal group awarded to G-4008 Private Robert Brown of The Middlesex Regiment comprising 1914-15 Star, Great War medal and War for Civilisation medal, death plaque for Robert Brown together with original envelope and outer cardboard cover, a facsimile letter from Buckingham Palace, a copy of The Bury Guardian dated Wednesday February 16th 1916, with article regarding the funeral of Robert Brown whose parents resided at no.130 Hollins Mount, Unsworth, he received several wounds caused by bursting of a shell on October 9th 1915, he subsequently died of his wounds on the 9th February 1916 and was buried at Unsworth 'St George' churchyard plot no.26 (illustrated)

Mclean (Stephen) THE SPITFIRE IN SOUTH AFRICA AIR FORCE SERVICE (Signed by 4 former Spitfire pilots) 300mm x 212mm x 20mm viii plus 224pp. Hardcover with covered DW. Richly illustrated in B/W and colour throughout. Presentation copy to Mrs Rogers, the wife of General Bob Rogers, in 2001 – just after his death in 2000. General Rogers was assigned to 208 Squadron (RAF) in Egypt, where he flew Hurricanes and Spitfires in North Africa, Sicily, Italy and Austria. He was shot down, but managed to escape capture. In August 1942, despite having a finger shot off, he fought off 4 Luftwaffe ME 109s.He served in Korea, earned the American DFC, Air Medal with oak leaf cluster, and the Korean Chungwe Decoration. He retired in Knysna. In addition to this, the books is signed by four Spitfire pilots: Horse Sweeney – a veteran of World War II; 2 squadron, Air Operations School Dave Knoesen - has flown in 106 displays and is the only pilot to have flown in the Silver Falcons with the Impala and the Astra. A. Cooke – former aircrew 2 squadron, Air Operations School E. Downey – former aircrew, 1 squadron, Air Operations School. This remarkable book is in near fine condition throughout.
