Original vintage advertising poster for Isis Kischka (1908-1973) artwork exhibition held at Galerie Paul Gilson 6 to 30 November 1968 featuring artist's painting of a bouquet of blue and white field flowers and red poppies in a green vase set over blue background. Kischka was born in Paris to a Ukrainian Jewish emigrant family, he studied commerce and grew interest for painting, first working as a medal designer, and studying at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, arrested in 1941 and held in Compiegne he continued to paint until his release in 1944, he returned to Paris and founded an artists association. BelfastSotheby's 10.3.1988, Lot 89Private Collection, UKFootnote: As this striking, atmospheric work is a possible exhibition piece, it is worth noting that in 1837- shortly before returning permanently to England from France - Callow won a silver medal at the first exhibition of the Societe des Amis des Arts Bologne -sur-Mer. As he wrote in his autobiography, "I was principally painting sea pieces at the time: they were quite a novelty in Paris, and I received many orders for them from Durand-Ruel." Literature H.M Cundall (Editor), William Callow R.W.S., F.R.G.S: An Autobiography, Adam and Charles Black, London, 1908, p.63Condition report: In a broadly good state of preservation, there is a relatively small amount of small-medium-sized sporadic foxing spots which are evident within the sky. There is a further patch of more concentrated and larger sized foxing spots mostly evident within the sea between the right-hand side rowing boat and the buoy. Colour depth is broadly in good order, although the red of the overcoat worn by the figure seated on the left-hand side ship shows a possible degree of reduction to colour. Some slight cockling in evidence, not examined out of the frame.

dating: 1836 provenance: Paris, Rifled, octagonal, 13 mm cal. barrels, in very fine damask, signed in silver 'Devisme breveté à Paris' among silver decorations, also the staves at the corners in silver, the first part engraved and numbered '1' and '2', precision front sight, underneath marked and dated 'LECLERC', 'PARIS', with Leclerc mark 'LC', star-shaped mark, date 'AN 1836' and no. '156' e '15?' (the last digit not readable); perfect bores. Engraved tangs, with rear sight and numbered '1' and '2'; forward spring lock signed 'Devisme' on a black background and framed with rich floral engravings; briarwood half-stocks finely carved at the fore-end cap and around the butt-plate, micro-checkered butt. Iron mounts engraved en suite, trigger guard with finger support and triggers with integrated set trigger. Kept in their wooden case lined with green cloth, with all quality tools and the key. See 'Der Neue Stockel', vol.1, page 291. L.F. Devisme is documented in Paris from 1834 to 1859, he received a silver medal in 1839 and 1841 in the great industrial exhibition. length 41 cm.

Three medals of Umberto I 'Unità d'Italia 1848 - 1870', two medals VE II Independence War and Unification of Italy, five other medals, a knight's cross of the Honour Legion, French 6th model (small chips), and a medal Napoleon III for the campaigns in Italy. Together with different documents for orders and medals given to the Colonel Sergio Marselli, including the certificate for the Italo-Turkish War, a memento medal for the MCMXV-MCMXVIII war, gold cross for 25 years of service, appointment as Knight of the Crown of Italy and others. dating: Second quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Paris, Micro-rifled, octagonal, damascened and blued, 13 mm cal. barrel with golden decorations at the edges, slightly bell-mouthed nozzle, silver foresight; four-barrel cylinder decorated en suite, signed 'LE LYON A PARIS', 'RUE DE RICHELIEU'; PAR BREVET D'INV.ON', 'ET DE PERFECTION' and numbered 1 to 4, all marks in gold; engravings at the lateral discs of the cylinder, the front one provided with loading gate; percussion lock and counter-plate both engraved and decorated with gold and silver motifs, signed 'LE LYON A PARIS' and 'LE LYON BREVETE'; fine, briarwood stock in two parts, strongly sculpted butt, checkered with scales at the neck, steel mounts engraved en suite, trigger guard with effigy of deer, at the front part a pressure system which makes the cylinder revolve. Small, brass-tipped ebony ramrod. Beautiful weapon of great precision and elegance. In exceptional condition, the gun almost entirely preserves its original finish. This weapon was patented by Le Lyon in November the 10th 1826 and was awarded with the bronze medal at the 'Exposition Universelle' in 1827, it received again a prize in Paris in 1834. Published on the cover in 'Gun report', USA. See 'Der Neue Stockel' Vol. I pag. 734. Le Lyon is documented in Paris, Rue Richelieu, from 1827 to 1834.
