Serj't Arthur James Stewart 1st Batt. Royals); Army Meritorious Service medal-VR to Co. Sgt. A. J. Stewart 1/Foot; Army Long Service and Good Conduct medal-VR to Qr. Mr. Sgt. A.J Stuart R Monmth Engr Mil.; Turkish Crimea 1855 British Issue to 1948 Color Serjt. Arthur J. Stuart-Royal Regiment; French Second Empire Medaille Militaire with original documentation dated 1856Sold with personal effects including a Victorian silver snuff box, engraved inscription to the lid 'presented to Colour Serjeant Arthur J. Stuart-Royal Regiment-by Major Nevill-in remembrance of the Crimea and for long and faithful services as Pay Serjeant-1858', a snuffbox, Thomas Edwards, London 1855, hallmarked London 1855; a Victorian silver full hunter fusee pocket watch by Phillips Bros, 51 Cockspur St, London, No. 1753, London 1854 , engraved inscription on inner back 'Presented to Color Serjeant Arthur J. Stewart-The Royals-on the occasion of his retiring from the service by his brother Serjeants as a token of their esteem and regard-Kamptee-1st November 1865; together with a sepia photograph of Sgt. Stewart wearing four of his medals and dated on reverse '28/4/66' and an earlier hand coloured daguerreotype in fitted case; a 'Daily Prayers' book with written inscription to his son; a yellow metal watch albert, attached T-bar swivel oval locket (with photographs) and a pencil. Arthur J Stewart died in 1910
