A fine 19th Century French mahogany, ebonised, marquetry and ormolu mounted side cabinet by Francois Linke:, of slight recessed breakfront outline, surmounted by a panel of grey variegated marble, the frieze with anthemion decorated edge, having an ebonised central frieze drawer decorated with classical soldiers, horses and a chariot, flanked by a drawer to either side, with applied ormolu escutcheons with cherubs and scrolling foliage, the central cupboard enclosed by a pair of flame decorated quarter veneered doors, flanked by an enclosed cupboard to either side, with an ebonised roundel decorated with a cherub, within anthemion and foliate scroll cruciform surround and ebonised anthemion spandrels, anthemion scrollwork decorated base, on bun-shaped feet; 107cm high, 206cm wide.

An Anglo-Indian hardwood, probably padouk and glazed cabinet bookcase, second quarter 19th century,: the cornice and frieze profusely carved with scrolling foliage, above twin doors with arched glass panes within conforming relief carved foliage, enclosing shelves; the base section with gadrooned and agg-and-dart moulded edging, above a drawer carved with two panels of radiating reeding, above twin conforming doors, an egg and dart moulded base and turned toupie style feet; 209cm high, 125cm wide, 49cm deep.*Notes Literature Amin Jaffer, Furniture From British India and Ceylon, V&A Publications, 2001, see p 390 for discussion about the decorative elements present: '...the sunburst is much represented in Anglo-Indian furniture of the second quarter of the 19th century...used in the decoration of both western-style furniture and indigenous architecture, particularly in the Bombay Presidency, but eventually in Bengal and Madras as well'.

A Dagoty (Paris) porcelain cabinet plate of Egyptian interest, c.1805, painted in sepia monochrome with two figures standing at the foot of the Sphinx of Gaza, the rim with a wide formal border in gilt and lilac, titled 'Le Sphinx' in gilt to the underside, Dagoty à Paris mark, 22.2cm. The scene on this plate derives from Vivant Denon's print of the Sphinx being measured by members of the Academy of Egypt.

A Paris porcelain cabinet plate of Egyptian interest, c.1805, probably decorated by Dagoty in sepia monochrome with two figures seated before the Medinet Habu temple of Ramesses III at Thebes, the rim with a wide border of a falcon and aquatic bird perched between formal spear panels, titled in gilt to the underside 'Temple de Thèbes à Médjinet-âbou', 22.4cm. The scene on the plate derives from Vivant Denon's drawing of 1799, published in 1802, depicting figures before the temple.
