In good condition with no obvious damage or restoration. Surface wear apparent. We suspect the Minton plate may have been a blanche china item that has been since painted with a high quality design.

An unusual late 19th century rosewood and boxwood-strung writing table; the rear hinged compartment with strung and marquetry lid opening to reveal a compartmentalised stationery cabinet; the leather-inset writing surface (now very distressed) above a full-width drawer retaining original brass handles and in turn flanked by two serpentine-sided drop-leaves with floral-style marquetry decoration, raised on square tapering strung legs terminating in brass castors (58cm wide leaves down x 49.5cm wide x 78cm highest point to top of cabinet)
