The surface lacquer has bleached and is worn in most areas. The left hand door is quite stiff to close. This is an auction of preowned and antique items. A CARVED AND GLAZED CABINET The pair of cupboard doors part-glaze and with red and gilt panel behind, the lower portion of the doors with carved figural court scenes, the shelved interior with a pair of short drawers decorated with flowering foliage, with foliate and scroll carved apron and on mythical beast supports 121 x 102 x 51cm Provenance: Lot 94 - 147: Property from a family collection at Redwood Avenue, Singapore and Jalan Melor, Malacca Condition: There is genreal wear, signs of age and use throughout. The gilded sections of decoration to the front of the cabinet look to likely have been re-painted, the gilding is much brighter to the inside panels to the glazed sections and the drawer fronts on the interior .Similarly sides and main body of the cabinet appear to have been re-lacqeured at some point in time.Right hand door is a little stiff to close and as such some rubbing to the base where it opens and closes (see additional image).
