Edwardian mahogany two section Chinese Chippendale style mahogany cabinet, the mirrored interior fitted two adjustable shelves enclosed by pair of astragal doors with bevelled glass panels, the lower section fitted two drawers and two shaped open shelves with pierced fretwork brackets and standing on ring turned cluster column front supports with tapered feet, 117cm wide
A VICTORIAN MAHOGANY GUN DISPLAY CABINET, which came from the Stephen Grant & Son gunshop at 67a St. James, London. It was moved from there to 7 Bury Street as part of Grant & Lang, which subsequently became part of Churchill (Gunmakers) Ltd., and when they moved to 61 Pall Mall in 1976 it was no longer required and was then saved by Don Masters. The cabinets are illustrated in the photograph on page 326 of 'The House of Churchill' of the Bury St. showroom on the near left. hand wall, behind the stair railings. There are five glazed doors above a suite of fall-flap cupboards and in two sections, one of 8ft. and one of 6ft. wide, both are 8ft. high. An additional illustration is shown in the bottom photograph of page 460 on the right hand side.
A VICTORIAN MAHOGANY GUN DISPLAY CABINET FROM STEPHEN GRANT & SONS, with the same provenance and history as above, 4ft.. wide and 8ft.. tall. The glazed section has two doors and a curved left. hand corner glass and stands upon a double door cupboard and is shown in the bottom photograph on page 460 of 'The Home of Churchill' by Don Masters.
A FINE VICTORIAN MAHOGANY COLLECTORS CABINET, approx. 4ft. wide and 3ft. tall, in three tiers of fifteen graduated drawers making forty five in total. The drawers are about 12in. from the front to the back. This item and the following lot came from Milwards the famous Reditch based fishing tackle manufacturers and retailers when in May 1950 Milwards shared part of Grant & Lang's Bury Street showroom and used the cabinet to store lures, flies, hooks etc.
