A Victorian mahogany collector's cabinet with hinged door enclosing ten shallow drawers with turned bone handles and with recessed brass carrying handles, height 35cm, depth 42cm, width 31cm.Additional InformationQuite a few knocks and bumps to the edges and some staining and scratches to the top. A couple of splits to the bone handles and they are not exactly in line, so a couple may have been replaced. Ideal cabinet for coins or similar small items. There is a key present to the working lock.
A 18th century style reproduction medium oak canopy dresser, the top section with two fixed shelves above base section with two drawers and two doors, height 190cm, length 112cm, depth 49cm. Made by a local cabinet maker based on an original of a North Wales dresser made using traditional methods.
A group of small and miniature Toby and character jugs including four small Royal Doulton examples; D6546 Robinson Crusoe, D6641 Veteran Motorist, D6608 The Walrus and Carpenter and D6547 Dick Turpin, various miniatures, some non-Doulton examples etc, all contained within a converted Edwardian walnut cabinet.Additional InformationMost of the jugs the condition is ok, some with a little staining, all are rather dirty. Three albums - (1) of early photos; (2) of Cabinet cards and Cartes de Visite (CdV); and (3) of postcards. (1) is an album of approximately 92 early photographs, two to a page, each image very approximately 11.5cms by 8cms, of various family portraits and topographical views - at least some of which are of France. But there are four of Edwardian Southsea showing the South Parade Pier and Canoe Lake area and four of military reviews on Southsea Common (see photo).(2) An album with approximately 55 Cabinet cards, CdVs and photos on card, plus approximately 14 others loose including the three photographed of work by local photographers West & Son, Harding and Debenham of Portsmouth. There are also ten Cabinet cards in two folders - or one folder that is now in two parts.(3) is an incomplete postcard album in poor condition containing approximately 63 cards in mixed condition - some very good, but a few with creasing and one with a corner missing. The cards include eight Harry Payne Raphael Tuck Oilettes and military art cards by other artists; a few topographical art cards; five Fareham cards with a photographic view of West Street; three printed cards of Clovelly; 15 cards of dogs, including six by Mac; other animal and artist signed cards with six by Mabel Lucie Attwell. There is also a mainly empty photo album with what appears to be 12 newspaper comic sketches, including work by Ridgewell and Edwin Morrow (see photo).
