A good selection of mostly small late 19th/early 20th century decorative ornamental porcelain etc. to include two Austrian-style tygs, a 19th century Coalbrookdale-style porcelain chamberstick encrusted with flowers, a Hammersley cabinet cup and saucer in the 'Dresden Sprays' pattern, a pair of Continental late 19th century seated figures (male and female) together with other similar items etc.
A mid-20th century walnut drinking cabinet in earlier style; two cross-banded doors with ornate pierced brass escutcheons and hinges opening to reveal a cocktail cabinet with mirrored internal slide, further over a single full-width drawer and two further banded cupboard doors below, raised on four short cabriole legs headed with scallop-shell style motifs to the knees and terminating in Braganza-style scrolls (damage to lower middle frieze) (73.5cm wide x 39cm deep x 146cm high)
A very well-made 18th century style (later) Anglo-Indian rosewood bureau cabinet; the outset cornice above two glazed doors, each with six hand-bevelled glass plates enclosing shelves, the wide and heavy cleated fall opening to reveal fully fitted stepped interior with central reeded cupboard door, opening to reveal spring-loaded catches releasing the two turned columns as 'secret' compartments, further with pigeon-holes and varying sized stepped drawers etc. and a well below, the façade with three top false drawers over two half-width and two full-width graduated true drawers, raised on shaped bracket feet (189cm high x 58cm deep x 126cm wide)Condition Report: the cabinet is in good honest condition, it has been stored so some the colour has lightened (rectified with a professional re-polish). The two base draws also appear to be slightly discoloured. The fall supports - the left-hand one is sturdy and good, the right-hard one is also good. Upon close inspection (front on) the right-hand side has lightened and has a very minor split but not problematical. The fall itself is flat and has small split from right-hand side (cleated ends) and some strengthening wood has been used to prevent the splitting. The inside of the piece is highly elaborate with lots of secret draws, small cupboards, slides etc. A stepped interior and the two brass hinges are quite verdigris, the lock also. Overall the piece has a very nice look.
