Seltener Einblattdruck mit Holzschnittvignette, welche u.a. den Ballonaufstieg durch Henri Michaud anpreist. Zudem werden weitere mechanische, physikalische und optische Experimente beworben, welche das Publikum in mehreren Veranstaltungen begeistern sollen. Zu den weiteren Attraktionen wird neben einem Phantasmagorium auch ein Großes Chinesisches Feuerwerk sowie ein Kabinett mit Glasobjekten beschrieben, welches den Besuchern eine optische Reise aus zahlreichen Blickwinkeln bieten soll. - Mit geglätteten Falzen sowie tls. mit unscheinbaren Knickspuren bzw. Quetschfalten. Insgesamt äußerst wohlerhaltenes Exemplar sowie interessantes zeitgeschichtliches Dokument hinsichtlich der zu dieser Zeit noch jungen Geschichte der Ballonfahrt. In der Velegeradresse bezeichnet "d'aprés le Tableau original, qui est dans le Cabinet de M.F. Drouhin 1799." - Teils minimal braunfleckig und etwas knickspurig. Ausgezeichneter klarer Druck mit zarter Tonalität. France. - Coloured aquatint etching. Decoratively framed (unopened). - Partly minimaly brownstained and with slight crease marks. Fine clear print with gently tonality.

"Quelques érudits ont suspecté l'authencité des objets représentés" (Hoefer). - Innenspiegel mit Wappenexlibris, Vorsatz mit Bibliothekstempel. Vorsätze leicht leimschattig, stellenweise leicht braun- bzw. fingerfleckig. - Insgesamt sehr gut erhaltenes, breitrandiges Exemplar mit kontraststark, differenzierten Tafeln. First french edition of the translation by J. Roche of the book first published under the title "Romanum musaeum". - With engraved title vignette, as well as 160 illustrations on 43 copper plates. - Half calf with gilt title and gilt tooling to the spine (rubbed, corners chafed, back board somewhat stained). Paste-down endpaper with coat of arms, endpaper with library stamp. Endpapers somewhat glue-shaded, in some places slightly brown- and fingerstained. - Altogether very well preserved copy with wide margins and highly differentiated plates.
