Three miscellaneous items: the first an oak smoker's cabinet as a safe, with 2 doors and 3 drawers, 26cm wide, 24.5cm high, the second a George III mahogany tea caddy with 2 internal divisions, 16.5cm wide, 19cm high (top of handle), the third a Mah Jong set with slide up front and five drawers of bamboo and bone or ivory counters and number sticks, with instructions.Condition report: First - one replaced projecting oak piece top left, metal tarnished, doors don't meet in the middle.Second - feet missing, moulding missing from base on right, carcass has pulled out slightly leaving a gap at one corner, small pieces of ebonised moulding missing.Third - sliding door split, badly split at back, metalwork discoloured, instructions in poor condition.
A walnut drinks cabinet, 1960s, by Jarman & Platt, with a centre section opening onto a lit mirrored interior with etched plates, with fittings holding a juicer and cocktail sticks, over two drawers, on either side flanked by a cabinet door opening onto a single shelf on either side, raised on tapering legs, labelled to the inside of the cabinet doors, 145cm wide, 46cm deep, 81cm highCondition report: Some scratches and wear, commensurate with age and use. The light tube unfitted to the centre section. Some spotting to the mirror plates.
A walnut bureau bookcase, c.1730, with a cavetto cornice, feather banded border decoration, arched mirrored doors and candle slides enclosing small drawers and shelves, above a fitted interior enclosed by a fall, the lower half with two small and three long drawers with border mouldings and pierced brass plate handles, on bracket feet, 101cm wide, 58cm deep, 213cm highCondition report: A nice looking bureau cabinet, with some old repairs to the corners of the border moulding and replacement brass handles.Section of moulding return missing from left hand side. Both parts original. No obvious signs of woodworm. Old holes for handles visibleThe glass has been replaced. Oak lined. There is a secret drawer. All drawers open. Please see images.
