A 17th century and later South German walnut and marquetry cabinet on later stand, with moulded cornice and two doors, inlaid and engraved with coats of arms and heraldic motifs, flanked by birds and carnations, the interior with an arrangement of fifteen drawers, all inlaid with flowers and vases, on a later mahogany stand with tapered legs and pad feet, width 110cm, depth 53cm, height 153cm***CONDITION REPORT***Overall of a slightly faded golden tone, principally to the front doors which also do show some slight fading and a few small cracks and minor losses, both sides are plain and stained a darker colour, with vertical splits running through, original key and working lock on the main door, viewing the inside of the door panels it is evident they have been cut down from larger pieces, the interior of much fresher and probably more recent manufacture and fitted with ormolu ring handles, base looks to be an adaption using George III timbers.PLEASE NOTE:- Prospective buyers are strongly advised to examine personally any goods in which they are interested BEFORE the auction takes place.
