His trained eye looking for the most suitable vase, table and background, the right arrangement of every single blossom and stem. Druckzustandes vor der von Eugen Meyerhof gedruckten postumen Auflage von 400 Exemplaren. Auf leichtem Kupferdruckpapier. 27,9 x 37,3 cm (10,9 x 14,6 in). Papier: 44 x 56,8 cm (17,3 x 22,3 in). Gedruckt von Otto Mueller und Maschka Mueller. [JS]. • Einer von nur 5 Holzschnitten in Muellers Œuvre, • Durch das angewendete Negativverfahren und seine formale Reduktion erinnert er an die Eleganz ägyptischer Reliefs. • Einer der äußerst seltenen Handabzüge des 2. Druckzustandes mit der Signatur, den Ausbrüchen im Holzstock an der rechten Blattkante und vor dem für die postume Auflage eingeritzten Monogramm. • Bisher wurden erst 3 bis 4 weitere Exemplare dieses Zustandes auf dem internationalen Auktionsmarkt angeboten (Quelle: artprice.com). • Nach den ca. 10 Handabzügen des 1. Druckzustandes hat Mueller den Druckstock vorübergehend als dekoratives Türelement an seinem Grafikschrank befestigt, wodurch die Kerben an den seitlichen Kanten des Holzstockes entstanden sind. • Ein weiterer Abzug dieses Druckzustandes befindet sich in der Sammlung des Städelschen Kunstinstitut, Frankfurt a. [JS]. • One of just 5 woodcuts in Mueller's œuvre. • Owing to its formal reduction, it is reminiscent of the eleganca of Egyptian reliefs. • One of the extremely rare hand-made proofs from the 2nd state with the signature, the cracks in the wooden printing block in right and with the scratched monogram. • To date only 3 to 4 other copies from this state have been offered on the international auction market (source: artprice.com). • After he had made ca. 10 prints of the first state, Mueller used the printing block as a decorative element on his graphic cabinet, which explains the notches on the side. • Another copy from this state is in the collection of the Städelsche Kunstinstitut, Frankfurt a.
