Salvador Dal', 1904-1989 CABINET ANTHROPOMORPHIQUE inscribed Dali and numbered 45/330 bronze length: 64cm.; 23Kin. Conceived in plaster in 1973 and cast in bronze in three sizes: 23cm., 64cm. and 186cm. According to Robert Descharnes, the present cast was executed at the Fonderia Mibrosa in Barcelona.
Dutch walnut and marquetry Display Cabinet, decorated throughout with trailing flowers and foliage, boxwood stringing and narrow banding, cavetto moulded cornice, two glazed doors to the upper section, enclosing three serpentine shelves, arched glazed "windows" and canted corners, two doors below with a single shelf, ebonised bun feet, basically early 19th Century, width 180cms, height 120cms.
A Berlin salmon-pink-ground cabinet cup and saucer circa 1815 the cup applied with a biscuit profile bust of King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia to sinister, after the model by Leonhard Posch, on a gilt oval panel with tooled vermiculle ground, both with broad bands of gilt foliate scrollwork and formal gilt foliate borders to the rims, cup interior gilt sceptre marks in underglaze-blue, painter's mark of two parallel dashes in manganese, impressed numerals and I (2) This depiction of King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia, wearing the star of the Order of the Black Eagle and the Iron Cross, was modelled by Leonhard Posch in 1815; see A.Forschler-Tarrant, Leonhard Posch 1750-1831 PortrÅ tmodelleur und Bildhauer, p.60 no.64.
