In the manner of Alphonse Tahan late 19th century Louis XVI style ormolu mounted mahogany and kingwood parquetry inlaid work table with projecting round corners and hinged top, the interior with mirror and drawer above a wooden bag, on fluted tapering legs and castors. Alphonse Tahan (1830-80) was a maker of small items of furniture and cabinet maker to Napoleon his son Jean Pierre continued his business. 30 x 26 x 18in. (76.20 x 66.04 x 45.72cm)
A mid 20th century oak sideboard of plain form with 4 central drawers and flanking cupboards and turned wood handles on a chamfered supports, a small pine low wash stand, the plain rectangular top removable to show bowl recesses and raised on bulbous turned supports and a modern pine finish wall mounted cabinet with mirrored doors
A painted serpentine shaped side cabinet, in 18th century Italian style, the shaped faux marble top with a moulded edge above a pair of doors and sides painted in the classical manner after Berain, on a moulded base and turned feet, 85cm high, 100cm wide, 49cm deep. Provenance: reputedly purchased at auction at Sotheby’s New York in September 2005.
A silvered and painted side cabinet, in 17th century Italian style, the rectangular moulded top above a pair of panelled doors, each carved with panels of horizontal painted flutes beneath leaf carved arches, the pillars with carved capitals and spandrels, divided by a rectangular leaf carved panel flanked by carved pilasters, the moulded apron on bracket feet with scrolls, 94cm high, 146cm wide, 53cm deep. Provenance: reputedly purchased at auction at Butterfields in the 1990s.
