Baron Smith of Finsbury is a British politician, peer, former member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister and former chairman of the Environment Agency. For the majority his career he was a Labour Party member. Provenance: Acquired by Dorothy Claxton on 11th May 2000 through Debra Shipley, former MP for Stourbridge.

A George III breakfront bookcase, the moulded and dentil cornice above two glazed doors flanked by two bowfront doors, all between fluted quarter columns, the base with cupboard doors, on splayed bracket feet, 227cm by 73cm by 230cmRepair to the decorative glazed doors. Fitted for electricity. Part of the cornice is loose. The upper beading parts of this are missing. Split to one side of the bookcase top. Some of the feet have been replaced. Split to the central cabinet doors and right-hand side drawer. Very faded in some areas. Overall wear. Estimate £200-£300.
A Cotswold School walnut cabinet, the rectangular top with re-entrant corners above single adjustable open shelf over a pair of cupboard doors opening to reveal another shelf within, raised on shaped, slightly splayed feet 138 x 121 x 36cm (54 x 47 x 14in) In very good overall condition, light wear and scuffs commensurate with age and use, the right hand end panel slightly proud at the top edge.
