A Portuguese or Spanish 17th century table top cabinet, the exterior veneered on four sides with ebony crossbanding, shaped spandrels and arched devices, the front with a pair of doors opening on to a traditional arrangement of drawers and dummy drawers, these with applied ebony mouldings, the drawer at the centre has applied mouldings simulating a doorway, at the centre a steel mask escutcheon. At the base of this drawer a secret compartment. Width 40.5cm, depth 31.5cm, height including bracket feet 30.5cm. The internal drawers have replaced handles, but the five of the original steel drop handles survive. (See Illustration)

An Empire mahogany and rosewood display cabinet, the pierced brass gallery above a pair of glazed doors enclosing graduated shelves, flanked by spiral reeded pilasters with gilt metal pharaoh head capitals, the double cupboard base inset with jasper ware tondo panels, raised on gilt metal feet, width approx 113cm.
