An 18th century Portuguese East Indies solid burr walnut and brass mounted cabinet, enclosed by a pair of doors with ornate cut and pierced hinge mounts and escutcheon's, the interior fitted with a combination of eight drawers with ebony mouldings and eucaplyptus linings, brass side handles and corner mounts, together with a later walnut stand with fitted single drawer on turned legs united by a cross stretcher, on bun feet, 69cm wide.Provenance:Sale, Phillips Midlands 8th April 1992, lot 389
A Victorian oak Gothic revival bookcase cabinet with four arched astragal glazed doors divided by cluster columns over four panelled cupboards on a plinth base, 260cm wide x 245cm high. Condition Report The top/cornice lifts off, the glazed doors split into two sections, the lower section stays as one. One glass panel is missing, there is replacement moulding all over. Needs a polish/wax. In overall tatty condition, will look good with restoration.
Possibly Heals; a pair of early 20th century limed oak three drawer chests, on block supports, adapted, 61cm wide x 84cm high, (2). Condition Report One cabinet with worm to the back, sides and base. Both in solid condition, all drawers run smoothly. Note, both chest once were dressing tables, they have had the mirrors removed. We have the mirrors if you want them.
A grey painted bookcase cabinet, with architectural cornice fitted with novelty chimney pots over four glazed doors and four panelled cupboards on a plinth base, 271cm wide x 263cm high. Condition Report The cornice is later and can be unscrewed. The paint is dripped all over, otherwise in good condition. It is 216.5cm high without the cornice.
A late 19th century mahogany bookcase cabinet, with pair of glazed doors over drawers and cupboards, 164cm wide x 214cm high. Condition Report There are filled holes to each side of the bookcase top. There is a small chip to the cornice. There is a chip to the moulding where the top meets the base. The plateau needs repolishing. The back of the base has been shaped to fit a wall (see photographs). It is in overall solid condition with no worm.
A pair of 20th century ebonised three drawer bedside chests, with metal inlaid teak handles on tapering splayed supports, 60cm wide x 74cm high. Condition Report Chests are later ebonised, all drawers run well and smoothly. No damage or faults. The legs are 19cm high, the cabinet height without the legs is 55cm high.
