A superb Midland Railway light oak 12" dial fusee movement drop-dial wall clock. The original face is lettered "John Smith & Sons, Midland Clock Works, Queen St, Derby", and the polished cabinet bears its oval brass "LMS 14899" numberplate, and a circular steel tag "17". Carved ears, and a carved surround to the pendulum window. In full working order with pendulum and key. This clock was sited in the Derby Works Fire Department. Quite magnificent.
A Great Northern Railway 12" dial chain fusee Potts wall clock, with its original GNR "32" numberplate on the side. When the clock was acquired there was a LNER dial on top of the original GNR dial which was in poor condition so it has been restored and repainted. An early clock with a narrow mahogany surround. The back of the cabinet displays its original paper labels including the Potts repair instruction notice. A lovely, polished clock in full working order, complete with brass pendulum, and wooden-handled winding-key.
