ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN - AMPEG SVT2 BASS AMP & 8x10 CABINET - in Les's words "This was bought around 1984 and was handpicked by me for its tone from several other Ampegs that were on offer. It was used in the studio on every track and every album from Ocean Rain onwards. It was also used on every tour all around the world in live shows, as well as numerous TV shows and festivals. I also used it on session work, for example Terry Hall (Specials) and Terry Hall's album ' Home' in 1994 as well as live tours with him and the Lightning Seeds. More recently it has been used on The Wild Swans tours and album ' The Coldest Winter for a hundred years'. It was used on my latest album recorded with Will Sergeant, Poltergeist ' Your Mind is a Box'. These base Amps are considered the ' King of all bass amps' in my opinion these are the best sounding bass amps in the world and the amp to which all others are measured. There have been many recording engineers in the past and recently, who have requested to sample the sound of this base amp and cabinet, due to the acoustic qualities and the characteristics of this bass rig. In my opinion this setup is the foundation and key sound behind the distinct, resounding bass tone of the Bunnymen. Also includes flight case for the amplifier head.
