Provenance The Victorian Society Catalogue notes When Crane began work for Jeffrey & Company he also became associated with the Royal School of Art Needlework. The school was home to an 'art' industry of secular needlework employing over 100 workers in 1875. Walter Crane's wife was also a keen embroiderer.
