Eight Coalport floral painted cabinet plates with pink ground gilt heightened borders, various sizes, approx 23cm (8).

Lot 434

Five Coalport floral painted cabinet plates, each gilt heightened and with blue borders, various diameters, approx 24cm (5). CONDITION REPORT: The plate with six sections of gilt floral decoration to the blue rim: some surface scratches to the floral painting. Plate with two blue and one pink flower: does not ring true, has crazing and staining, no obvious signs of a crack or restoration. All five are dirty and have light surface wear to the gilding.

Lot 863

An 18th century oak, pollard oak and mahogany crossbanded table top cabinet with single door enclosing four pigeon holes above an arrangement of eleven short drawers with three further drawers to the base, height 73.5cm, width 53cm, depth 26cm. CONDITION REPORT: Splits and patch repairs to lower section of door, further scratches, scrapes etc to crossbanded border, base also with splits, patch repairs and area of loss to veneer, front right corner with damage, loss and lifting, please see picture.

Lot 2

An early 19th century mahogany travelling medicine/apothecary cabinet, the hinged lid with brass recessed handle enclosing various glass jars and phials above a drawer with recessed brass ring handle again containing various glass jars and a porcelain spoon with leaf moulded handle, height 23.5cm, width 30cm, depth 12.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: General wear and tear as expected, part fitted, overall good condition. Several bottles with chips, and all with wear commensurate with age.

A Coalport hand painted cabinet plate centred with a vignette 'Weir Bridge' within ornate gilt decorated border, printed marks, also X1193, diameter 23cm, and a sample cabinet plate circa 1989, painted by Malcolm Harnett with a cottage scene, Stan Woodward with the floral detail, gilded by George Downs along with the dentil edge and with green ground by Louis Wain, diameter 27cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: Both have very minor surface scratches and wear. Sample plate has a 1cm scratch through the glaze at the back.

All are in need of a clean and are very dirty. The heavily gilded plate is well worn to the rim and has surface scratches to the gilding. All do have light wear to the surface.
