Ernest Gimson, 1864-1919, English walnut cabinet with ebony moulding, panelled cupboard doors and four drawers, drawer sides of oak with wide dovetails. The upper edges of the cabinet show decorative cogged dovetails and the sides, through tenons. Stepped trestle base, handmade double loop brass handles and backplates with fine rope twist surround are attributed to Alfred Bucknell, 104cm wide, 169cm high, 42cm deep A very similar cabinet was illustrated in a letter from Gimson to Philip Webb in 1907, in which he describes how the design of the cabinet evolved
