Archive of Documents and Personal Correspondence of Major John A,F,Ennals, Intelligence Corps, Newspaper Reporter & first Secretary General of the World Federation of United Nations Associations. Includes a number of letters written by him and to him in both an official and a personal capacity. They include one of the only reports on conditions in Bessarabia immediately after the Russian invasion in 1940. Later as a correspondent in Yugoslavia for the Daily Herald he witnessed the coup d'etat with overthrew the pro Axis Yugoslav government in March 1941 and the murderous bombing of Belgrade ten days. Held for a time by the Italians he took part, he later returned to the UK and became liaison Officer with the Yugoslav Partisans. One of his brothers David became a labour Cabinet Minister and included are c.60 letters from him mainly relating to the Home Front in Walsall in 1944. Also one of his election posters.
