A Victorian pine wash stand of half round form supported on an acanthus carved cabriole front leg and flat bracket back legs joined by an under tier, 100cm wide x 50cm deep x 95cm high, also a Lloyd Loom linen basket, an Edwardian carved mahogany two tier plant stand with acorn thistle motifs, a coopered barrel planter, a pier cabinet, a mahogany two tier plant stand and a fire screen decorated with a silk work of lilies and bulrushes (7)
A handmade mahogany coin collectors cabinet by Peter Nichols, 30 sliding drawers with vacant coin apertures and two further short and one long drawer, all behind two glazed doors, width 48.5 cm height 46.5 cm, depth 33 cm CONDITION REPORT: There are twelve trays with 49 apertures each measuring approximately 2.7 cm diameter. A further fifteen trays each with 56 coin apertures, each measuring approximately 2.1 cm in diameter. There is a single tray with 49 coin apertures measuring between 2.8 cm - 3.3 cm and 4 cm in diameter. We can confirm the drawers all work smoothly. There appears to be no losses. The rear right hand corner may need a little glue where the joint is opening on the applied moulding but this is nothing of significance. The left hand door has two interior locking bolts. There is a key to lock the cabinet. Overall the cabinet is in clean condition throughout. The cabinet retains the original Peter Nichols Cabinetmaker label to the reverse. Incidentally the vendor (now deceased) informed us that the cabinet cost him close to £1,000 when purchased new.
An Italian hardwood table top cabinet, 18th century, the exterior with ivory strung panels with two cupboard doors opening to reveal an interior of drawers with ivory and ebony inlaid decoration against a wavy moulded border, the interior doors similarly decorated, the central drawer housing a secret drawer to the rear, all upon a shaped plinth with brass bracket feet, all upon a contemporary stand but with later top, the cabinet including feet 37 cm wide, 28 cm high and 24 cm deep, the stand 60 cm high and 39.5 cm wide (see illustration).
A Coromandel wood and gilt metal strung four bottle decanter box, mid 19th Century, of typical form, the interior plush lined, the lid with gilt metal wine glass holders, the front hinged to the sides, with gilt metal hinges and locks and with applied silvered label for the Goldsmiths and Silversmith Company, width 27.5 cm height 32 cm depth 27.5 CONDITION REPORT: The top of the box is very dry and the three veneers join lines are clearly visible. The left hand side of the cabinet has one minor stress fracture approx 5 cm in length. The right hand side is in similarly good condition with three small stress fractures of a similar length. The back of the piece is again dry and marked. There are some stress fractures here also. The front is in generally good condition with only minor scuffs and marks. All of the brass bindings are present. The hinges are in very good condition and not loose. The folding mechanism operates as it should and the interior is in generally fairly good order including the material lining. The decanters are not in good condition. All four have significant chipping to the top lips. They are all beyond repair. The four interior drinking vessels are missing.
