A 19th century ladies Jewellery Box fashioned as two fine bindings together with a 19th Century penwork Box by A. Seuffert Cabinet Maker to His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh, Scott Street, Auckland, New Zealand, and an Asian hand carved cushion shaped Box, (3) CONDITION REPORT: The carved Indian style box appears to be in good order and is into the 20th Century, the dome topped penwork box appears to be a little faded to the top and front and opens well with original label showing to left hand side, in good general original condition, the box modelled as two books, made of yew-wood and exhibiting some splits, scratches, rubbing and wear generally commensurate with age, otherwise fairly good overall condition, (the box as two books retains original keys with Bonham's auction label, Lot No. 184). A late 19th/early 20th century Chinese lacquered and gilded Cabinet of small proportions, the shallow cornice above a carved and gilded frieze depicting a central chrysanthemum and other foliate style decoration above two thirteen-panel astragal glazed door enclosing shelves, the base section with two small drawers above two panelled cupboard doors, raised on short square legs, 83cm wide
A good pair of 19th century Mintons Cabinet Plates, each very finely hand decorated with children amongst country surroundings, the pierced blue key fret border gilt decorated and with blue enamel, one Cabinet Plate with impressed marks to underside including diamond registration lozenge and Mintons, the other also with impressed marks and a transfer mark for the Retailer Jeremiah Rhodes, Darley Street, Bradford, each Plate 24cm diameter CONDITION REPORT: On inspection (under a glass) the surface glaze appears glazed but this cannot really be seen with the naked eye on the top decorated sections, paint work is very good and bright and plates appear to have been looked after, slight glaze crazing to underside of plates at edge, plates look in excellent overall order for age.
