David Linley, a solid English walnut triple pedestal dining table, circa 1990, the rectangular top with moulded edge above the square section and moulded pedestals with spreading stepped bases, 74cm high, 462cm long overall, 154.5cm wide, impressed LINLEY Provenance: Property of a Gentleman of Title English Walnut, Juglans Regia, has been a popular choice of timber for cabinet making in Europe since the renaissanceCondition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use in a domestic setting,The table overall appears to have been polished, but there are some marks from use to the top, including some ring marks and indentations and scratches, The pedestal bases with marks and scratches from age and use too Overall the table is solid and stable.It can be used as a smaller two pedestal table, but the third pedestal and leaf would need to be stored, the central leaf is 152cm long, the ends are 155cm long each.This is a heavy table - as catalogued it is solid walnut, it breaks down into three tops and three bases. David Linley, a set of eighteen solid English walnut dining chairs, circa 2000, comprising ten armchairs and eight side chairs, each with gold weave upholstery to the removable backs and seat, the frames with acorn pattern finials, all 98cm high, impressed LINLEY to rear rails Provenance: Property of a Gentleman of Title English Walnut, Juglans Regia, has been a popular choice of timber for cabinet making in Europe since the renaissance Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use in a domestic setting,as catalogued these are solid walnut, One finial is broken off but is present - the break is quite clean and the elements appears to fit the socket - this should be mendable with a simple glue but it is probably best to get advice from a professional prior to a 'home remedy'. - please see images of this area. A pair of limed oak display cabinets, of recent manufacture, each in the form of obelisks, the pyramidal shelf section on ball feet and above the square section plinth base, 207cm high, 60cm square Condition Report: The ebonised ball feet are detached but present with the lot - they were inserted for the photograph but no inserted for the view at Donnington. One to each is attached through the internal wiring. Some old splits and cracks, some chips and losses to the ebonised surfaces.As catalogued these are not of great age and overall the condition reflects this. there are some areas of wear to the surface, each with an area that appears to have old tape deposits. The locks to the cabinet bases are new in appearance.
