A pen ‘used by President Calvin Coolidge’ America [Calvin Coolidge – 30th President of the USA] a dip pen by the Eagle Pencil Co New York^ nib rusted but otherwise good. This is accompanied by a small label with ms note ‘This pen belonged to President Coolidge USA. It was handed to me in the Cabinet Room at the White House by Mr Hanson [?] on June 3 1926 as few minutes after the President had used it.’ We have no reason to doubt the authenticity of this statement. Coolidge used dip pens and it has been established that he was at the White House on that particular date.
