An early 20th century mahogany and walnut cutlery cabinet having two internal drawers with doors over, external drawer and ball and claw feet, containing part set including 12 piece silver setting of dining forks, dessert forks, dessert spoons, soup spoons and 4 silver table spoons, Sheffield, 1931, 1932 & 1934, makers mark Walker & Hall, approx 3176g
A pen ‘used by President Calvin Coolidge’ America [Calvin Coolidge – 30th President of the USA] a dip pen by the Eagle Pencil Co New York^ nib rusted but otherwise good. This is accompanied by a small label with ms note ‘This pen belonged to President Coolidge USA. It was handed to me in the Cabinet Room at the White House by Mr Hanson [?] on June 3 1926 as few minutes after the President had used it.’ We have no reason to doubt the authenticity of this statement. Coolidge used dip pens and it has been established that he was at the White House on that particular date.
A late 18th century book of furniture designs, book has six plates by Hepplewhite, twenty by Shearer and three by W Casement, each dated 1788, designs to include bookcase, wardrobes, writing desk, wash stands etc, book is accompanied by a letter from The National Trust dated 11th April 1970 concerning this book, the author states this is probably the 1793 book of the cabinet makers, 'London Book Of Prices'. Redman (William) - 'Illustrated Hand Book Of Information On Pewter And Sheffield Plate', published in 1903, Scott (William) - 'Inventory Work And Catalogues', a concise guide for the compiler of auction catalogues of furniture etc, published by The Estates Gazette limited London 1939, also with this lot and indenture of apprenticeship between John Swithenbank and Martin Cockshott of Bradford, concerning his apprenticeship as a cabinet maker and joiner, dated 1802 (4)

A 19th century large metal bound oak Cognac barrel, stamped 'O&T Bacot, Cognac', now converted to a drinks cabinet, according to family history this barrel was washed up on the Cornish coast and found by a local fisherman, which was then restored and made into the current drinks cabinet and bought by the current owners in Bodmin, width approx 93cm (illustrated)
