An important collection of one hundred amber specimens from Mexico, the Dominican Republic and the Baltic, many polished to reveal the insect inclusions, the largest 2.75ins across, the collection contained in a stained wood six drawer collector`s cabinet, 18ins wide x 17ins deep x 18.5ins high. From Simojovel, Chiapas, Mexico (late Oligocene to early Miocene age) - thirty-one specimens each containing insect remains including spiders, mosquitoes, parasitic wasps, termites etc., also two specimens without insects (one red), a small amber sphere and a spider in amber mounted as a pendant. From the Domincian Republic (Lower to middle Miocene age) - thirty-two specimens, each containing insect remains, and three turned amber eggs. From the Baltic (Early Eocene to early Oligocene age) - six specimens with insect remains (all collected in the 19th Century), five smaller specimens without insects and nineteen dark amber pieces, each with drill hole.
