BERZELIUS JONS JACOB: (1779-1848) Swedish Chemist, considered one of the fathers of modern Chemistry. Brief A.L.S., Berzelius, one page, 8vo, n.p., n.d., to Professor Carl Gustav Mosander, in Swedish. Berzelius asks Mosander not to forget a story about the Min. Cab. (Cabinet Minister; possibly the foreign secretary Aaron Hjort?) which will be read by Sefstrom today. With integral address leaf (a couple of small areas of paper loss). A letter with interesting associations. VG Carl Gustav Mosander (1797-1858) Swedish Chemist who discovered several elements. Mosander was a pupil of Berzelius before succeeding him as professor of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the Karolinska Institute. Nils Gabriel Sefstrom (1787-1845) Swedish Chemist, also a student of Berzelius.
