The British Army of the late Victorian/Edwardian era:- A group of 52 cabinet photos and 2 additional photographs showing a wide range of regiments, mostly Line Infantry regiments or Rifle regiments. (54) CONDITION REPORT: Mostly NCOs and other ranks but also 11 officers of which 4 are in mess kit, 2 with blue cloth helmets and 1 with white foreign service helmet, several of Rifle regiments including a bugler of Rifle Brigade at Malta, several in broderick caps, a drummer of the King's Regiment with blue cloth helmet, (creased bottom right corner), a couple with medals for South Africa, a senior officer wearing a group of 8 miniature medals, 5 of bandsmen including one hand-painted and one with remains of paint, a Colour-Sergeant of the Hampshire Regiment, 10 in khaki service dress, several of these from Boer War era including a Pioneer-Sergeant and 2 of Mounted Infantry on horseback
The Brigade of Guards and the Household Cavalry:- Four group photos, 3 other photos, 3 cabinet photos, 5 cartes-de-visite and 46 R/P postcards. (61) CONDITION REPORT: CDVs include one of Colonel Frederick Burnaby (1842-1885) of the Royal Horse Guards in full dress, one of a Sergeant of Grenadier Guards, one of a Grenadier Guardsman and 2 of Scots Guardsmen; cabinet photos include a Household Cavalryman, c. 1908, a Victorian example of Duke of Connaught in Scots Guards uniform with orders and medals, a WWI Scots Guardsman with RAMC companion; Group photos include a pair of band of Irish Guards, 1938, in full dress, one with peaked forage caps, the other with bearskins, a group photo of Welsh Guards, c.1930, posing with silver trophy cups; also a signed portrait photo of Captain the Viscount I.R. Di Vesci, Irish Guards, Special Reserve, dated 1914; the postcards 35 of Guards regiments, 11 of Household Cavalry including many good portraits in full dress, others in service dress, parades and manoeuvres pre-WWI, WWI and post WWI

(177) CONDITION REPORT: Includes a cabinet photo of an officer of Royal Scots Fusiliers in full dress, c.1890, another similar, c.1910, a large portrait photo of an officer in WWI service dress, a group of Gordon Highlanders in full dress, c.1900, a group of the Black Watch in scarlet with glengarries, wearing medals for Egypt and posing with colours and drums, c1890, a cdv of an officer in braided patrol jacket taken at Stirling; the postcards include a good mixture of WWI, pre 1914 and post-War eras, bands, parades, some in India with topi flashes, some Territorial units such as the Liverpool Scottish, 7th Bn., Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders parading in camp

(A lot) CONDITION REPORT: The empty albums leather-bound, one with brass clasp, scuffs and cover coming away, the other entitled “Album des Roses”, with coloured floral litho-printed pages (2 pages with small tears) , together with 13 cartes-de-visite and 9 portrait photos all of civilians, several postcards, a scenic cabinet photo, a quantity of press & other photos and a large quantity of military copy photos principally relating to the Household Cavalry and other cavalry regiments
