A late Victorian mahogany and gilt-brass strung demi-lune side cabinet, late 19th century, by GILLOW with a marble top, stamped Gillows 16664, h.98cm., w.104cm., d.56cm. Gillow & Co. occasionally diversified into making furniture in Louis XVI style and several examples made in 1907 are illustrated in Christopher Gilbert: Furniture at Temple Newsam House and Lotherton Hall, cat.226-229.
