Kabinett im barocken StilMaße inkl. der Basis: 229 x 150 x 62 cm.20. Jahrhundert.In Holz in symmetrischem Aufbau mit einem Unterbau, der von zwei figürlichen Darstellung dominiert wird, deren Hände unter einen Scheinschub greifen, dessen Schloss einen darüber liegenden Schub öffnet. Der Aufbau mit zentraler Schwingtüre und zehn flankierenden Schüben mit Maskaronbeschlägen. Die zentrale Tür mit dahinterliegender architektonischer Inneneinrichtung mit korinthischen Säulen und perspektivisch zulaufendem Schachbrettboden, sowie einer Schwingtüre und darüber liegendem Schub mit vorgesetztem Portraitmedaillon. Unter der architektonischen Darstellung ein weiterer Schub. Das Möbel historischen Vorbildern aus dem 17. Jahrhundert folgend, mit dreiseitiger kontrastierender Marketerie und Inkrustationsimitation, sowie überkragendem Profil mit Blattwerkrelief. Ein Schlüssel vorhanden. Anmerkung:Das Möbel entspricht in seiner Auffassung weitestgehend einem Möbel das im J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, unter Inv.Nr. 77.DA.1 aufbewahrt wird und André Charles Boulle zugeschrieben wird (Paris, ca. 1675-1680). Dort mit folgender Erklärung: „Das dekorative Schema auf dem Schrank bezieht sich auf die militärischen Siege des französischen Königs Ludwig XIV. Die zentrale Tür ist mit einer Intarsientafel geschmückt, die den französischen Hahn zeigt, der sowohl über den Adler des Heiligen Römischen Reiches als auch über den Löwen Spaniens und der spanischen Niederlande triumphiert. Auf der Schublade über der Tür flankieren Militärtophäen aus vergoldeter Bronze ein Medaillonportrait von Ludwig XIV. In den Holländischen Kriegen von 1672 bis 1678 kämpfte Frankreich gleichzeitig gegen die holländischen, spanischen und kaiserlichen Armeen und besiegte sie alle. Dieses Kabinett feiert den Vertrag von Nimwegen, der 1678 den Krieg beendete. Zwei geschnitzte und vergoldete Holzfiguren aus der griechischen Mythologie, Herkules und Hippolyta, Königin der Amazonen, Repräsentanten von Stärke und Tapferkeit im Krieg, scheinen das Kabinett zu stützen. Das Bronzemedaillon über der zentralen Tür wurde von einer 1661 geprägten Medaille gegossen, die den König im Alter von 21 Jahren zeigt. Ein weiteres Medaillon im Inneren zeigt den König im Alter von 25 Jahren. Beide Medaillons wurden nach Medaillen von Jean Varin gegossen. Das Paar zu diesem Kabinett existiert noch in Schottland. Beide Kabinette kamen wahrscheinlich im frühen neunzehnten Jahrhundert nach England, nachdem die Französische Revolution die Zerstreuung so vieler französischer Sammlungen verursacht hatte.“ Literatur:Vgl.
