Her sister, Margaret Skirving Gibb (1877 - 1954) was also a militant suffragette. President of the Glasgow Ladies' Chess Club, she won the Ladies Minor Tournament in 1907 and drew a match with Joseph Henry Blackburne (1841 - 1924) when he visited for an exhibition in 1921.
