A Brynmawr oak dressing chest, fitted five small drawers and matching dressing stool W.41cmBrynmawr Furniture Makers Ltd was a manufacturing company in Wales, established in the 1920's to provide jobs for local people to combat the severe economic depression in the area. Paul matt was the son of and apprentice to Charles Matt, a Polish immigrant cabinet worker who made furniture to the designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, heavily influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement.
A reproduction Cherrywood side cabinet, the top with a green geometric inlay above two cupboard doors enclosing a shelf, 100cm by 40cm by 81cm; and a similar Yewwood double door cabinet, inlaid with a brasswork banding, 110cm by 46cm by 73cm; and a matching three drawer filing cabinet, 50cm by 57cm by 61cm and a reproduction mahogany, crossbanded and ebony strung coffee table, in Regency style, of rounded rectangular form and raised on a gun barrel support with four splayed legs with brass capped toes and castors, 122cm by 69cm by 49cm (4)
