Two cabinet plates, one royal Crown Derby with both printed and impressed marks and decorated with figures in landscape, the other Sevres decorated with a courting couple and signed "Guillou" with printed marks verso "Chateau des Tuileries" and "Sevres 1844". Diameters 9 ins and 9.5 ins respectively.
A Victorian mahogany table cabinet, the rectangular top with moulded edge above a crossbanded frieze and pair of panelled cupboard doors enclosing a sliding centre section of apertures and pigeonholes and fitted with a drawer beneath and raised on ogee bracket feet. Width 16.5 ins, height 19.5 ins, depth 11 ins (see illustration).
A late Victorian walnut wardrobe with dressing table and bedside cabinet, the wardrobe with detachable moulded cornice above a central mirrored door with bevelled glass flanked by foliate carved and plain panels, the base fitted with two drawers with brass drop handles. Wardrobe width 67.5 ins.

A PAIR OF GEORGE II WALNUT CHAIRSon cabriole legs having pad feet, upholstered in close nailed 18th c style woolwork, 104cm hProvenance: Supplied to John Hay, 4th Marquess of Tweeddale, PC (1695-1762) and by descent at Yester House, East Lothian to William George Montagu Hay, 11th Marquess of Tweeddale (1884-1967) and the Marchioness of Tweeddale (née Wagg, subsequently Nettlefold, m1945, d1977), thence by descent to the present vendor.When he inherited the newly built Yester House in 1715, the 4th Marquess of Tweeddale embarked on the interior decoration and furnishing of the house. This was completed by 1728. The cabinet maker Charles Douglas was employed as House Carpenter from at least 1732 until 1749 and there he is known to have made what may be the earliest firmly provenanced mahogany chairs in Scotland, at a time when the architect William Adam was re-ordering some of the rooms. Whether Douglas made the present fine side chairs is not certain, since Lord Tweeddale sent him to London on at least one occasion to purchase tools and patterns (see Furniture History, 1983, pp. 13 and 60). A George III Scottish silver twin handled trophy cup by George McHattie, Edinburgh 1808, retailer’s mark ‘Milroy’ to foot rim, the tongue-capped angular handles issuing from leaves, the cylindrical body on a circular spreading foot with a threaded rim, the interior gilt, 22cm (8 1/2in) high, 716g (23 oz), on a later black plastic socle as a backgammon prize. The plaque to the socle engraved ‘Second Prize Clermont Club Backgammon Tournament October 1966’. This was won by the present vendor’s step-father, John Miller, when he was a member of the Clermont Club in the 1960s and backgammon player extraordinaire. The Clermont Set was an exclusive group of rich British gamblers who met at 44 Berkeley Square, in London’s fashionable Mayfair district now located at 27-28 Curzon Street and called Aspinall’s. The club was founded in 1962 by John Aspinall and the original membership included five dukes, five marquesses, almost twenty earls and two cabinet ministers. Society figures included Peter Sellers, Ian Fleming, David Stirling, Lucian Freud, ‘Lucky’ Lord Lucan, Lord Derby, Lord Boothby, and the Duke of Devonshire. Businessman members included James Goldsmith, Gianni Agnelli, Jim Slater, and Kerry Packer.
