A Georgian mahogany Secretaire cabinet, with satinwood and ebony stringing, brass mounts, and carved and inlaid decoration. 143x111x63cm. Generally good condition, with age and use related marks and scratches. Probably the bottom half of a bookcase. Some small areas of loss to moulding and veneer, and some brass mounts are bend out of shape.
A 19th century continental oak and mahogany cabinet on stand, with panelled doors, shelf fitted interior, six drawers under, carved decoration and raised on square tapered legs. A/F. 172x206x56cm.Various signs of damage to decoration, including a missing finial. Various chips and areas of loss. Doors are slightly ill fitting. No key present. Missing a divider between two drawers to the interior. Cornice and back panel slightly bowed. Rosewood veneer to top of cornice is lifting. Requires some attention.
A 17th century oak court cupboard, with chip carved and panelled decoration. 156x165x54cm.Note inside one door reading:"The lettering upon this cabinet CEM 1688 refers to the Morris family of Rochdale. After the death of Doctor John Walter Morris in February 1893, to whom it descended, it was purchased by Robert Taylor Heape (1848-1919?) who afterwards gave it to me. Signed Rich Heap, Healy Hall 1916."This is in two sections. Appears to have been stored somewhere damp. Some signs of repair and restoration. Missing locks. Worm damage to back. No runners to bottom drawers, and floor panels are absent. May have had additional decoration to the top which is now absent. Front shelf is loose. Loss to right side. Skirt to left side has detatched. Cracks to lower right panel.
A mahogany and marble topped washstand, with raised back, two drawers and cupboards under, 107x127x51cm, and a mahogany blanket box. Both with labels for Henderson Cabinet Makers, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, (2).Washstand in good used condition, with some minor chips to the marble. Missing a piece to the cornice. The blanket box has one foot that needs re-attatching.
A 19th century style three-section mahogany library bookcase, with two glazed doors above two drawers and cupboards under, maker's plate behind door for Henderson Cabinet Makers, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. 131x220x51cm.Good condition. Gap in top panel beneath the upper section, as well as both sides. We think this is a relatively modern piece, from the latter half of the 20th century.

A mixed lot to include; a 19th century rectangular tea caddy, mahogany veneer with inlaid lighter wood areas, two compartments within but no linings or covers, on four bun feet, a stoneware bottle (some damage to stopper/top rim), a small coppoer and brass jug, a square travelling ink well, leather outer casing, and a late 19th/early 20th century key cabinet with two drawers to bottom (base is detached so drawers come out at bottom, locked and no key). Also included within the lot is a quantity of mixed two pence cons,some Edwardian, George V and later etc. Further details: some loss/damage as mentioned to key box, some loss, cracking and wear to tea caddy, scratching etc to most commensurate to age.

After moving to London he started designing books and other printed materials for artists, fashion houses and record labels, and his book of poetry, Don't Be So..., was illustrated by Damien Hirst and published by Trolley Books in 2001. His art engages with Christian Gnosticism and cutting-edge scientific research - ideas which come together in one of Fryer's most important works: Ecce Homo.

André Breton, Manifesto of Surrealism, 1924George Melly was first immersed in surrealist ideas by the Belgian poet, artist and writer Édouard Léon Théodore Mesens (1903-1971). Melly worked for Mesems at the London Gallery. Later Melly moved into Jazz music working with Mick Mulligan's Magnolia Jazz Band. His interest in the surrealist movement continued throughout his lifetime, even appearing on a documentary in 1978 which recorded his journey from North London to the Hayward Gallery to view the Great Exhibition of Dada & Surrealist Art. Barry Flanagan and Maggi Hambling painted his portrait and works by Magritte adorned the walls of his private collection.'Any picture which for me is worthwhile is in a way an exteriorisation of what's inside the person.' George Melly, 1982 Condition Report: The box has a crack in the wood to the upper left corner. A number of scratches to the lower edge. Some light scratches to the perspex glaze.
