A LARGE SIGNED JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD HARDWOOD & SHIBAYAMA SHODHANA DISPLAY CABINET, with staggered shelves, and a large door inlaid in gold and red lacquer, ivory and mother-of pearl with a vase of peony supported on a low stand, a seal to the lower right-hand corner, 64.75in high x 57.5in wide at widest point x 20.8in deep.
An 18th century oak spice cabinet, having a panel door enclosing eight small drawers, on bracket feet, 32.5 cm wide Condition report Report by RB The two plank top has moved slightly, and the sides have shrunk a little, with two carrying handles to the sides, one missing its circular disc, the lock appears to be replaced, and the key does nothing at all, there is no lock plate, some of the drawers have some of the edging missing and the corners, some of the bracket feet sections missing, mostly to the right hand side, hinges weak and damaged. Overall could benefit from some colour.
A Chub in a glazed cabinet With a plaque, Chub 4lb 12ozs, caught in the Hampshire Avon, Christ Church, June 15th 1941 by W.L. Shaw amongst grasses, naturalistic simulated rocky base painted interior within a rectangular pine case. 35x67x35cms. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Condition Report Lot 1856: All glass appears to be in good order, however it is difficult to establish if the glass is original or not, therefore this can't be confirmed. All three panels of glass are held in with smaller pieces of slip frame wood. There doesn't appear to be any evident insect damage, however there are visible cracks extending across top of head approximately 5cm in length, smaller cracks to mouth. Small areas of flaking to scales. Cracking around fin areas. Natural yellowing to paint. Otherwise food condition indicative of age.
A cased recording barograph by JB Watson, Optician, Edinburgh The rectangular plinth base with a sliding drawer holding spare papers with an inset brass platform with a 11cm silvered dial registered No: 428606 with a circular 9.5cm diameter drum enclosed within an oak and bevelled glass case raised upon a plinth base and compressed bun feet. 22x36x21.5cms. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Some fading to the top of the oak and glazed cabinet, minor fading to the oak plinth, some oak staining to the drawer, some ink staining to the interior plinth under the glazed dome, mechanism moves freely.

CONDITION REPORT: The outer case in good condition, glazed panels not broken, hinges tight the Fortin some oxidization to the ring handle and the white metal top and support beneath the inscription Griffin & George Ltd, some oxidization and scratching generally to the black outer cased paint, minor mercury infill with key to cabinet.
A mahogany cased granddaughter clock With an arched brass dial with a silvered chapter ring, Roman and Arabic numerals, cast mask and leafy spandrels the arch centred with an oval cast with fruit and leaves pierced blued hands and a centre seconds sweep the two train eight day movement with anchor escapement now striking on coiled gong with a four pillar brass movement the case with a swan neck cresting with rose finials, rose terminals above a gilt metal pineapple finial, pierced fretwork frieze above fluted baluster columns, pierced fretwork sides the trunk with a mahogany crossbanded door flanked by similar columns raised upon a panel plinth base and claw and ball feet, plain rear legs with two weights and a pendulum. 192cms high x30x47cms. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: The case, the hood with a pineapple gilt finial, the plinth which it sits upon and the lower small plinth may be associated, dentil and blind fretwork and flowers good condition, hinges sound but a little loose, glass good condition, old putty around the rim, fluted columns good condition, fret work sides good condition, the trunk door fits flush to cabinet no warp, hinges solid no movement, minor scratching just below the door, minor surface scratching to raised panel plinth, some scratching to front claw and egg feet, the arched dial surface scratching to the arch, possibly later centre sweep hand, movement striking on a coiled gong, foot board original some rust to the pendulum hook, some signs of later soldering to the bracket which supports the pendulum, movement complete, some space between the arched dial and the cheek boards, with two weights and a pendulum.
