A large collection of Stilton jars, etc. to include Fortnum & Mason, a collection of Continental porcelain cabinet plates each decorated with game birds, and a Sevres porcelain cabinet plate decorated in cobalt blue and gilt CONDITION REPORTS Sevres plate has knife mark to gilding, general wear, dirt, scratches, scuffs, etc. conducive with age and use. Continental plates have general wear conducive with age adn use, some small losses of enamel decoration, one plate has a chip to front rim. Stilton jars all generally appear OK, with wear, etc. conducive with age and use. All items dirty - see images for more detail.

A Dutch bombé chest, of three graduated long drawers, veneered in walnut, inlaid all over with floral marquetry decoration, on paw feet, 94 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GH The veneer on the top has a long crack right across the centre from one side to the other. There are also areas where the veneer is lifting slightly, some areas with small amounts of loss and cracking and two patches that have been added on either side at the back. Similarly down each side of the cabinet there are long cracks right down the centre and there are several places each side of this crack where the veneer has either lifted, is missing or is damaged. The front of the cabinet presents well but there are some small damages to the veneer, chips scratches and gouges commensurate with age and some sun fading. All the escutcheon plates and the handles are present and appear to be original. The feet are replacements in a darker coloured wood at the from and in block form at the back and have been reinforced and added to.

A dentist's style walnut cabinet, the pierced three quarter gallery above a tambour front enclosing a mirrored interior having a marble shelf and an arrangement of 14 drawers, above two frieze drawers and a pair of panel doors below, on a plinth base, 71 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GH The Dentist's cabinet: Pierced gallery around the top - there is evidence of damage and re-gluing along the left hand side and also on the left hand side, a piece of dowel, which allows the gallery to fix to the top of the unit is missing, otherwise it is good with chips and scratches commensurate with age. The top of the cabinet has ring marks, old scratches and marks and wear commensurate with age. Moving down the ebonised moulding, has evidence of scratches and knocks all the way round. Moving down to the shutter style door, this operates smoothly but has one of the turned handles missing. The interior of the cabinet: The internal mirrors have some silvering and foxing to the glass but no cracks or damage. The marble is also in good condition with only some minor chips to the edges. Moving down to the array of small drawers, the top left drawer has a missing turned handle, which does not appear to be present. Moving down the brushing slide appears to have its original felt covering which is stained and worn commensurate with age. Moving down, the frieze drawers also, what appears to be the original felt lining, in good used condition with both handles present. Both cupboard doors appear to have all moulding present, however, there are two large areas of veneer loss towards the centre of the unit on both doors, and the plinth also all present but chipped, dented and scratched with use. Both sides of the unit are also in reasonably good condition, the left hand side of the unit has more sun fading than the right, and both display stains, chips and dents etc. It should also be noted that there do not appear to be any keys present with this piece. Assorted chandeliers, other light fittings, and two shop counters (qty) Condition report Report by GH Chandeliers, light fittings and two shop counters: The first shop counter has the front leading edge of the moulding on the display section detached but present. The access glass doors at the back of the cabinet have also been taken out and are also present, with some cracks in one or more sections. The main body of the cabinet is reasonable with some marks, dents and scratches commensurate with use. The second cabinet: the top piece of glass is notably cracked right down the length of one side, the rear access glass doors have also been taken out but are present, similarly the body of this cabinet is dented and scratched commensurate with use. The chandeliers and light fittings are in fairly poor condition with paint loss and rust on one of the chandeliers and various breakages to the other chandeliers with missing drops in places, dust and loose pieces. An Edwardian inlaid mahogany display cabinet, inset Jasperware style panels, 99 cm wide Condition report Report by GH The Jasperware panel at the rear of the piece at the top appears to have surface scratches, but otherwise it is undamaged. The top surface of the cabinet is heavily scratched, dented and gouged. The veneer is in good condition on the frieze. The glazed panels on the doors and on both sides of the cupboard, are all unbroken and the Jasperware panels on each door have various scratches and marks but are not cracked. The fabric interior of the cupboards has various wear, stains, damages and threadbare areas, but is all present. The legs are all present and appear to be undamaged, and the unit as a whole is firm with seemingly no loose joints or structural issues.
An inlaid mahogany display cabinet on stand, on tapering fluted legs joined by a shaped X stretcher, 82 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GH Display Cabinet: Starting at the bottom of the legs - the gilding on the feet is very rubbed and worn. Moving up to the cross-shaped stretcher, there are at least four places where the stretcher appears to have been broken and re-glued and repaired, leaving glue residue and some small areas of loss. The gilding on the central medallion of the cross-stretcher is also rubbed and worn. Moving up to the frieze of the cabinet, the moulding to the drawer front on the far right hand side is missing, and there are splits to the wood surrounding this. There is also moulding missing on the right corner below the drawer front, and there is some loss on the left hand side of the drawer front to the circular decoration. Moving up to the main part of the cabinet, the moulding that runs down the centre of the two doors is loose and coming away, otherwise the wood is chipped, scratched and gouged commensurate with age, but presents well. There have been three to four holes drilled through the back board of the piece. Overall the piece presents well but has faults.
