She remarks that this style of decoration is 'typical of the burgeoning late seventeenth-century taste for landscapes'.Condition ReportLater gilt frame with minor wear. Please see additional photos for reference to condition.Examined out of the frame. The panel is set into a later wooden frame, suggesting that is unstable. A small piece of the limestone border is loose, but sits into place quite snugly and is held in place when within the giltwood frame. Cracks to borders and image, including a 7cm crack to the top right corner of the image. Some scratches and surface wear. Dirt, discolouration and patination. Approx. 0.8cm loss to bottom left corner. Small area of loss to bottom right corner.
