The Regent Street shop was opened in 1835. He produced chronometers for the Spanish Navy as well as celebrated pocket watches (sabonetas). A 19th century style grey painted pine linen press: the shaped cresting over a flared, moulded cornice and a pair of panelled enclosing a hanging rail, flanked by fluted muntins, over a base with two short over two long graduated drawers with painted turned handles, on bracket feet, 116 x 58.5cm, 209cm high.* Condition: Some wear to paint to edges and around handles, plus paint loss to left side of base from a piece of parcel tape. The top section is separate from the base. The base has a piece cut-out from the back corner on the right hand side, probably to clear a pipe or similar in a property. This has removed part of the drawer runner at the back. The lower drawer is missing the lining (see photo) and has a large chip to the wood to the back left. The stop blocks are missing from this drawer and the two short drawers. The right hand door is slightly warped at the top, but they still close firmly. The top section has a 3in. hole cut through the back panel at the lower left (it was used as a TV cabinet at one time). The hanging rail is still fitted to the interior however.
