An Art Deco walnut cocktail cabinet, the central opening bar with mirrored back and fitted with various cut glassware, cocktail shaker, lemon squeezer, etc., above a pair of cupboard doors with drinks holders within and cutlery drawer below, flanked to either side by a pair of cupboard doors with shelves within, raised on shaped bracket feet126 x 138 x 44cm Cabinet contents: five tumblers, four liquer glasses (one broken), four sherry glasses, six martini glasses with cocktail sticks, two decanters, one oliver jar, one salt shaker, one dish, a cocktail shaker, a lemon squeezer and a mixing spoon. The fall front has a nasty scratch horizontally across the front, otherwise condition is generally good, noting minor scratching and wear commensurate with age and use. One of the retaining clips to the inside of the top has corroded somewhat.
A George III inlaid mahogany and cross banded corner cabinet with a central inlaid conch shell motif and flanked by two inlaid classical urn motifs above two doors enclosing three shelves, above a small central drawer, 30½ x 21½in. (77.5 x 54.6cm.), 43in. (109.2cm.) high.* Condition: Light fading to the veneers, internal green baize is worn.
An early 20th century inlaid mahogany part glazed Haberdashery cabinet with a flared cornice over four glazed lift and slide doors, the base with two cupboard doors opening to a single shelf, all raised on a plinth base, enamel makers label for Jones, Moss & Co to top of right cupboard door, 47¾ x 13in. (121.2 x 33cm.), 72½in. (184.1cm.) high.*Jones, Moss & Co. (late T. Edwards & Sons) furniture works and showrooms, Ironmarket, Newcastle-under-Lyme, established 1797. The business supplied and made a wide range of furniture and furnishings, including bedroom suites, cabinets, bureaus, sideboards, dining tables, chairs, bedsteads, carpets and rugs. The company had been named Jones, Moss & Co. since 1906 upon the retirement of Samuel Edwards, J.P.
A late 18th century Maltese marquetry bureau the drop leaf forming a writing desk when opened and having a central marquetry Maltese cross design, the drop front enclosing six stepped drawers flanking two stepped shelves, all beneath a single long shelf, the lower section having a central faux drawer with brass lock plate, flanked on either side by two drawers with brass drop cabinet handles, above a single long drawer, raised on shaped cabriole legs with brass foliate mounts, 38¼ x 20in. (97.2 x 50.8cm.), 39½ in. (100.3cm.) high.* Condition: veneer loss
An Art Deco figured walnut two part bookcase cabinet Austrian, 1930s, of rectangular form with inset plinth base and rounded outer top angles, the larger, left hand section with a full height cupboard to the right of a glazed two shelf bookcase with sliding doors over a central pull-out side, a pair of cupboard doors and three open shelves below, 78¾in. (200cm.) long, the right hand section with similar upper glazed bookcase over a shallow open shelf and cupboard beneath, 39¼in. (100cm.) long, overall length 118in. (300cm.), 13¾in. (35cm.) deep, 50 1/8in. (130cm.) high, can be used joined or separately. (2)
A Queen Anne style walnut cabinet on stand 1920s-30s, the double dome top over a pair of cross banded doors with ornate brass strap hinges and lock plate, enclosing two slides, over a three drawer base with shaped, arched kneehole, on shell carved cabriole legs with pad feet, 33¾ x 20¾in. (85.75 x 52.75cm.), 67¾in. (172cm.) high.
An Edwardian mahogany and marquetry glass fronted cabinet on stand with swan necked pediment, above two astragal glazed doors having floral and swag inlay, enclosing three removable shelves, supported by four tapered square legs united by an under-tier with central floral inlay, 33 ½ x 16 x 79 ½in. high.
A fine Victorian amboyna, burr walnut, ebonised, parcel gilt and boxwood string inlaid side cabinet with shaped cresting above two arched panel doors with applied oval porcelain de Paris plaques and gilt mounted pilaster ornament, the base with one concealed drawer and shaped apron, on turned tapered legs with ebonised peg feet, conjoined by a shaped cross stretcher, 39 x 22½in. (99 x 57cm.), 70½in. (179cm.) high.
A William IV rosewood side cabinet or chiffonier the rectangular top over a full width frieze drawer, raised on turned tapered columns, flanking a two door cupboard enclosing two adjustable shelves, all with reel moulded edges, on carved paw feet, 39 x 16in. (99 x 40.5cm.), 35¾in. (90.8cm.) high.
A large George III inlaid mahogany floor standing corner cabinet the cavetto moulded cornice over a herringbone banded mahogany veneered frieze, above two lancet astragal glazed doors enclosing three shaped shelves, the two door base with a single shaped shelf, on bun feet, 46 x 23¼in. An Aesthetic Movement ebonised and Japanese lacquer panelled sheet music cabinet by Gregory of London the three quarter gallery top over a pair of triple panelled doors with outside brass hinges, the larger upper panels in maki- lacquer with scenes of a nobleman and attendants in a fenced garden beside a lake, opening to reveal four 'slide' type shelves, over an open lower section with three turned dividers, on brass castors, 20 x 14in. (50.75 x 35.5cm.), 47¾in. (121.25cm.) high.* A very similar example, with tiled and lacquer panelled doors, was sold at Christies, London, in 'An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection, Lot 214, 30th September 2021.** Provenance: The Country Seat, nr. A Victorian burr walnut, gilt metal and marquetry pier cabinet the quarter veneered, moulded top with rounded front angles, over a floral and husk marquetry frieze and conforming marquetry panelled door enclosing two shelves, over a single lower drawer, on a plinth base, 18¼ x 13½in. (46.5 x 34.25cm.), 43¾in. (111cm.) high, faded, old restorations.
A mahogany, Vernis Martin, marble and gilt brass oval vitrine cabinet c.1900, the pebbled, rouge marble top with pierced brass half gallery and swagged edge mount, over a gilt brass panelled frieze and a fully glazed cabinet beneath with single door, enclosing two glass and one velvet lined shelves, the lower sections all with Vernis Martin panels depicting courting couples in gardens, on brass mounted toupie feet, 28½ x 20¾in. (72.5 x 52.75cm.), 57in. (144.75cm.) high.
