A Fabulous 17th Century Inlaid & Geometrically Moulded Two Part Chest/Cabinet Circa 1670. The upper section accommodating a shallow frieze drawer above a deep drawer both hung on side runners with two cupboard doors to the lower section. The whole piece embellished with ivory, bone & mother of pearl inlay enriched with pen-work and having split spindle appliqués set in pairs adorning the centre divides and sides. The door panels centred by naively engraved figural ivory plaques set into protuberant moulding with similar panels protruding from the deep drawer. The sides adorned with further appliqués and bosses. Standing on low stile feet 50½ ins (127 cms) high, 44½ ins (113 cms) wide and 25½ ins (65 cms) deep.
A Small & Attractive Joined Oak Cabinet/Stool. The two plank top having a moulded edge above an offset cupboard door with edge moulded panel centred by a horizontal banded lozenge motif enhanced with punchwork, neighbouring a small side panel decorated with similar vertical lozenge design. The cupboard raised on slightly splayed baluster turned legs with block feet united by peripheral stretchers, 27 ins (69 cms) high, 23 ins (59 cms) wide, 14½ ins (37 cms) deep.
